Inggris Bela Serangan Roket Hamas ke israel
LONDON - Seorang anggota Parlemen Inggris membela serangan roket yang dilesakkan oleh Hamas ke arah Israel. Namun pembelaannya itu diganjar dengan sanksi indisipliner terhadapnya.
Anggota Parlemen Inggris dari Partai Liberal Demokrat, David Ward, lewat akun Twitter miliknya menulis pernyataan yang membela serangan roket dari Hamas.
"The big question is - if I lived in #Gaza would I fire a rocket? - probably yes. 'Pertanyaan besar saat ini, apabila saya tinggal di #Gaza apakah saya akan menembakkan roket? mungkin saja iya'," tulis Ward dalam akun pribadinya, seperti dikutip The Guardian, Rabu (23/7/2014).
Pihak Partai Liberal Demokrat pun langsung melontarkan kecaman atas tulisan dari Ward. Juru bicara partai mengatakan bahwa pihak partainya akan menerapkan sanksi terhadap Ward.
Sementara pihak Partai Konservatif yang menguasai koalisi pemerintahan bersama Liberal Demokrat menyatakan Ward harus menarik komentarnya.
"Tidak seharusnya seorang anggota parlemen menulis tindakan yang memicu kekerasan. Tindakannya tidak bertanggung jawab," ucap pihak Konservatif.
Ini bukan pertama kalinya Ward mengecam tindakan Israel. Pada Juli 2013 lalu, Ward menyebut pihak Zionis diambang kekalahan dalam perang. Dirinya pun mempertanyakan sampai kapan negara apartheid seperti Israel bisa bertahan.
